High living costs and low rates of pay in many jobs means that a lot of people find themselves struggling to make ends meet. Starting up a home business can allow you to turn your skills or passion into cash. Have a think about the things you love doing, it could be crafting, baking or tutoring students on a topic you know a lot about such as music or nutrition. Start your venture small in your free time and let it grow organically as you’ll be able to see whether it’s something that will remain as a side hustle, or that you can continue to build and potentially even go full time with if it does well.

Creating content is a great way to make money online. Bloggers and Youtubers can both earn a significant amount of cash every month, although this does take time. This is a good option for someone who already has an established following on these types of platforms, as you can work on improving things and monetising more. As your site or channel gains followers and authority, sponsors and advertisers will start to contact you about paid work. It’s a great way to earn money as you’re doing something you genuinely enjoy anyway; it might be a bit of extra pocket money but if you’re lucky and it does really well, it could easily become your full time career. Have a think about what you enjoy and base your content around this, it could be anything from travel to career advice, health and fitness or just your daily lifestyle.
