“…you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Thoreau said, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.” Do’t be resigned to that. Break out!”
~Robin Williams, from Dead Poet’s Society
Rather than just give up, offer excuses and live as a failure, grab life by the scruff of the neck and get on with living it. Cliched, yes, but you only have one shot at it.
So why do some people just give up the will to live. Lack of purpose, too many failures, lack the bottle to dare and risk, or simply lead a rudderless existence?
Sound familiar? Then here are some clear tips to give your life back to peak form:
Define: Define what you want out of life. Get a bucket list of things you want – but don’t tread the materialistic route: cars, gadgets and houses. Nail down what you want in your heart. And go after it. If it’s happiness, define what you need to achieve to get it. And you may well bring happiness into other people’s lives as well
Be useful: Rather than drip along half-heartedly saying you are not worthy and feel useless, spark your passions and get out of this rut. Be useful, will it and you will be. You can achieve – small or big. Just keep plugging away
Belief: The best belief is someone who believes in you. So ditch those that undermine and belittle you. Create friendships and find someone who believes in you. Having belief means you won’t disappoint yourself
Drive: At your core, have purpose and passion. These will drive you through life and never think that you are useless or stupid. Offering your effort to others will keep you moving forward
