How Do You Go From Unkown Business To Household Name?

There are a lot of challenges present when you first start a new business. You’ve got to invest money into the business, you’ve got to find the right people to work with, you’ve got to find the perfect product. All of these things, among many, many others can make life pretty difficult. But there’s one thing that many new businesses struggle with that can be so difficult that some never really make it past the early stages. That thing is actually reaching customers in the first place. After all, how can you find customers when no one knows who you are in the first place? Well, as much of a challenge as it is, it’s far from impossible. Here are just a few ways to start growing your audience from the ground up and go from an unknown business to a household name.

Go directly to the customers

One of the best things about trying to promote and market your business in the modern era is that thanks to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, you’re able to connect directly with potential customers in a way that has never been possible before. If you see someone tweeting about an issue that your business can solve, then you can speak directly to them and offer to help. That way you cut out the middleman and can show customers exactly what it is that you have to offer them right from the start.

Pair with professionals

One big mistake that small businesses make is trying to do everything themselves. In reality, the best thing to do is to contact people with specific expertise in growing businesses and using their experience to your advantage. Whether they’re marketing agencies or dedicated SEO companies, working with these kinds of businesses can help to grow your audience in ways that you simply wouldn’t be able to on your own. Not only that but outsourcing those kinds of things to outside companies means that you can focus on the things that you are able to control, like the quality of your product and customer services.

Embrace viral content

When people hear the term, “going viral” it probably conjures a lot of idea s in their heads, but in reality, it’s really quite simple. Viral content is simply content that people want to organically share with one another. It might be a funny video; it might be a thought provoking article. Being able to embrace viral content and producing things that people want to share isn’t always easy, but it can be incredibly effective. Think of it as a modern version of traditional word of mouth advertising.

Of course, just because you’ve created an audience and a customer base doesn’t mean that your troubles are over. After that, you’ve got to start thinking about two things. 1, how you’re going to continue to grow from there, and 2, how you’re going to hold onto your customers. These kinds of things are equally challenging, but hopefully, once you’ve made it past that first hurdle, you’ll have the experience and confidence to face whatever challenges you come up against.
