Do Your Customers Really Care About How Clean Your Premises Are?

Does your business have retail premises?

Perhaps you’ve got an office that your customers often visit. For most business owners, their priority is on offering an excellent service. They want to make sure their customers buy from them in the future. And they hope those people will recommend them to their friends and peers.

Cleanliness levels in a retail or office environment where customers visit isn’t a priority. But, should they be? In short, the answer is yes. Despite what you might think, your customers DO care how clean your premises are when they visit! Here’s why:

An unkempt office or store is unprofessional

When you run a business, one of the things you must do is portray a professional image at all times. Your customers are just that: customers. You shouldn’t treat them as if they were your friends or family members. It’s important to show your clients that you take pride in what you do.

Plus, you should show that your pride goes beyond the products you sell or the service provided. When customers visit your premises, they should get treated to clean and comfortable surroundings. Regardless of what you do, cleaning must be part of your office maintenance regime.

Dirty premises shows that you don’t care about your image

Yes, your customers won’t visit you with the sole purpose of inspecting the dirt at your premises. But, they expect to visit somewhere that doesn’t make them want to vomit!

Whether you like to admit or not, image is everything in the business world. If you’re known for your professionalism, your business will grow. But, if you’re notorious for your lack of office or store hygiene, the masses will avoid you!

Believe it or not, keeping your premises clean isn’t that hard a task to complete. You could hire a company like Cleanworks or ComClean. Their job is to keep your premises clean and hygienic. This is especially important if you run a business such as a restaurant.

Sure, you or your staff could do regular cleaning at the end of the day. But, it makes more sense to hire professionals to do the job for you. Doing so means you and your employees can concentrate on offering a great service to your clients!

Employees and customers could suffer poor health

Professionalism and image aren’t the only reasons to keep your premises clean. Another vital one is health. Imagine if your dirty office or retail store was so dirty it attracted bacteria and vermin.

As you can appreciate, they can introduce a whole host of health problems to humans. For the avoidance of doubt, it’s best just to keep on top of your cleaning!

Declining safety standards

Last, but not least, you need to consider the subject of safety. Let’s say that your tiled floors are greasy and slippery. And your fire exits are poorly marked because of dirt and grime.

If you get inspected by environmental health officers, your business could get shut down! I’m sure you can agree that’s the last thing you want to happen. Maintaining a strong level of cleanliness will help avoid those problems.
