Every song begins with a spark.
For “Taste the World Together,” that spark came from a simple but powerful conversation — one that stayed with me long after the event had ended.
It started when I met Aaron Gan, the founder of HMG International, at our Peranakan cultural event. Aaron leads a fast-growing community of food lovers across Australia and throughout South East Asia. His mission is bigger than food — he brings people together, strengthens relationships between cultures, and uses food as a bridge to break down racism. His community welcomes everyone, and it continues to grow because people can feel its heart, kindness, and authenticity.
Aaron’s foodie network now stretches across Australia and overseas, especially across South East Asia. His community keeps growing because people connect with his passion, generosity, and his mission to unite cultures through food. It’s a community built on warmth, curiosity, and shared flavour — a place where everyone is welcome at the table.

At the event, we launched the Peranakan tribute song “Together, Be We Remember Us,” written to honour the Peranakan community. After the launch, Aaron approached me. He told me he loved the song — especially the lyrics — and he shared his dream of having a song dedicated to his own multicultural foodie community.
He didn’t ask directly.
He didn’t need to.
Sometimes, passion speaks louder than words.
As I listened to him talk about food, culture, community, and unity, I could feel how deeply he believed in what he was building. And as a fellow creative, I knew instantly — this was a story that deserved a song.
How the Song Was Written
When I got home that night, my mind was full.
I kept replaying the conversation, thinking about Aaron’s mission and the beauty of bringing cultures together through food.
So I sat down and began writing.
Not the song — not yet.
First came the purpose.
The meaning.
The keywords.
The emotional message.
Piece by piece, line by line, I started weaving the words together.
Verse by verse, chorus by chorus, the message became clearer:
Food can unite us.
Food can break barriers.
Food can remind us that we are all human.
And when we taste the world together — the world truly tastes better.
As I was writing, I found myself humming melodies.
Sometimes the tune came first.
Sometimes the words guided the music.
Slowly, everything merged into one song.
It took several days to shape it into what I wanted — meaningful, joyful, and universal.
Once the lyrics felt right, then I shared the draft with the ArtSHINE Music team. Together, we spent two weeks refining the arrangement until it became exactly the anthem we envisioned — a warm, uplifting celebration of food, community, and cultural unity.
Aaron’s Reaction — and the Beginning of a Collaboration
When I finally shared the completed song with Aaron, his reaction touched me deeply.
He wrote:
“Wow… I love it. 🥰 Very catchy also.
This brings everyone and culture together through food, relationship, friendship and etc.
This is what I wanted and you know and understand my feelings and ideas.
You put it very nicely in and through song and music.
You are very talented. That’s a great gift that you have.”
— Aaron Gan, Founder of HMG International
These words meant so much — not just because he liked the song, but because he felt understood. The song captured his heart, his mission, and the soul of the community he had built.
I am delighted that ArtSHINE Music is now officially collaborating with HMG International — and that “Taste the World Together” is now the official HMG International Community Foodie Theme Song.
It feels like the song found its rightful home.
The Heart of the Song — Key Lyric Highlights
“Let’s taste the world together…”
A call to come together as one community — at the table, in festivals, in families.
“From curry to baguette,
From sushi rolls to tacos…”
A joyful reminder that every culture brings something beautiful to the table.
Food is universal — and we all have something meaningful to share.
“No colour, race, or border
Can stop what love can do…”
The core message of the song:
Kindness breaks prejudice.
Curiosity replaces judgment.
Unity is possible when we eat together.
“Food’s the bridge that makes us whole…”
A metaphor for how food opens doors, softens hearts, and creates friendship.
“When we taste the world together,
The world tastes better too.”
The final truth of the song:
Unity creates beauty.
Sharing creates peace.
And the world becomes a better place when we experience it together.

A Song Celebrating Aaron Gan & the Global Food Community
This song wouldn’t exist without one meaningful conversation.
So this is my tribute:
To Aaron,
To HMG International,
And to every foodie community working to bring people together through flavour, culture, kindness, and love.
Because in the end…
We don’t just share food.
We share stories.
We share memories.
We share our hearts.
And that is what makes the world taste better.
